Distance decides
Compensation follows the great-circle distance between departure and arrival — not what your ticket cost. €250, €400 or €600 per passenger.
Three hours or more
You're generally entitled to compensation if you reached your final destination at least three hours late, or for cancellations and denied boarding.
Paid per passenger
The amount is paid for each traveller on the booking and comes on top of any refund of the ticket itself.
The estimate is indicative. Final entitlement depends on the cause of the disruption — extraordinary circumstances such as severe weather or air-traffic strikes can exempt the airline.
How much can you claim?
Compensation under EU261 is fixed by the length of your flight — not the price of your ticket.
Applies to delays of 3 hours or more, cancellations, and denied boarding on flights departing the EU/EEA or arriving in the EU/EEA on an EU/EEA carrier.
